Street Madness

My parents won't let me to eat street food such as Kwek Kwek, Isaw, Betamax, Helmet and many others. When I was a child, I never tried eating in the streets. My mom keeps on reminding me back then that eating foods like this are very risky because you may have diseases like hepatitis and typhoid. So can you imagine the horror on my face when I heard that? By simply eating that delicious looking food on a stick, dip in vinegar can cause your death or life time sickness.

Whenever we go to the park I can always see many people eating those kinds of food and I can always see familiar faces. I wonder why they are still alive. I thought that food can kill you. Why do they look so happy eating it if they will die eventually? That’s when I started asking people eating those foods, what do it taste like and what happen to them after eating it.


And finally, after so many years, I was able to taste those foods that haunt my taste buds for so long.

This is what chicken intestine looks like. It is most commonly known as “isaw”. It is tasty and dipping it to vinegar makes it more delicious. Well, I wasn’t able to eat much of it because it is made from chicken, but nonetheless it is still delicious.

"Betamax" It is made of pig’s blood. It is shaped into cubes and grilled. It is best with spicy vinegar and I believe the taste of betamax depend on the vinegar you will use.

"Adidas" Chicken’s feet I personally don’t like this because it is made from chicken and I’m allergic to it. So I let my friend taste it for me. And she says it also tasted like chicken plus the flavor of the vinegar.

After tasting some of the street food I concluded that it is more delicious when you dip it to vinegar. It adds more flavor to the food. Indulging yourself on eating street foods once in a while is fine just be sure that you’re going to buy from a trusted vendor or if you really want to secure your safety make your own.
