Sunday
is family day so we have to spend our whole day with the family and that left me
nothing to do but to read books or use the internet! I really hope mom change
her mind about staying at home, I really, I mean, REALLY want to go out. I want to eat outside so that I can write
something.
My mom
is such a hard headed woman I can’t convince her. (Hooray, what a
productive day) I just stayed in my room and read magazines. Then an idea hit
me! If I can’t go out to eat foods, I can surely make one at home. I immediately
went to the fridge and look for something to cook.
Since
I’m still upset with my mom, I decided to cook dad’s favorite. Good thing we
still have some ingredients for it. By the way, I’m going to cook “pork tapa” and
“buttered vegetables” so these are the only veggies available that I can use in
making buttered veggie (Baby Corn,
Carrots and Broccoli), but if you have
more vegetables, it's much better.
The
first thing I did was to peel the carrots and cut it into thick and long pieces because
that’s what my dad prefer for his veggie. Then I cut the baby corn into half
and the same thing goes with the broccoli. After cutting them, I washed it separately
and placed it in a steamer.
I steamed it for about 10-15 mins and while waiting for it, I melted the butter. So when the veggies were ready, I transferred them in the container wherein the butter was melted. I mixed it there and added some salt and pepper.
I cooked the pork tapa (PT) in a frying pan with water. I just let it boil there and when the water is already drained, our PT is ready to eat. I cooked it using the water so that it will be soft and not oily.
So this is my buttered vegetables and pork tapa. I may not be good
at taking pictures and plating, but I can assure you that this is really
delicious. (hahaha)
After
cooking, my mom and I are already talking because she helped me in putting pepper
on the veggies. And that’s my weakness in cooking, I can't measure how much
pepper to put in every dish. By the way my mother is a great cook and she's the one who taught me how
to cook and I guess that’s one of the reasons why she still owns my dad’s heart.
(Jeez, I don’t know why I typed that! >_>)
Bye for now :)
